Are you a startup that innovates for children and teenagers? Then the ChildTech Challenge is for you.
The Impactus Ventures ChildTech Challenge is back in 2022, in partnership with United Way. We are looking for the best startups focused on the development of children, young people, young parents and teachers.
This call has the valuable support of Fundación FEMSA, +Global from Fundación Mustakis and Amalfi Sociedad de Inversiones. Thanks to them, this initiative promotes the use of exponential technologies that deliver impact, coverage and reach to social organizations focused on Latin American children.
The focus of this call is on solutions that address the following challenges:
- “Training in socio-emotional skills for children between 0 and 6 years old”
- “Recovery and acceleration of learning and/or reduction of educational gaps in children and young people between 7 and 18 years old.”
During the first stages of our call, we received applications from startups in more than 25 countries, mainly in Latin America, North America, Europe and Asia. Participants in ChildTech Mexico and Colombia also have the backing of leading organizations worldwide, such as Holon IQ, Y Combinator, 500 Startups, UNICEF Lab, GES Awards and SEK Lab, among others.
We are now in the final stage of the call, so if you have not yet sent your application, you still have time to do it. Here are the requirements:

What requirements do you need to meet to take part in the ChildTech Challenge?
The second edition of the ChildTech Challenge is aimed at technology-based solutions focused on children and young people that are interested in expanding or scaling into the Mexican and Colombian markets.
Startups that want to apply must be at a scaling stage, with proven sales of their business model and an equitable human capital structure.
Once the call ends, a selection process will be carried out by a committee of experts in innovation, technology and childhood. The selection criteria will be based on the details, characteristics and applications of each project. The process ends with a Demo Day where 4 winners (2 in Colombia and 2 in Mexico) will be selected.
What is the prize for the winners?
The 4 winning companies of the ChildTech Challenge Mexico and Colombia will receive a prize of up to USD 30,000 in an implementation contract to apply their technology together with social organizations in the country chosen for their project.
They will also have access to a process of support and commercial soft landing that will help them expand in Latin America, and the chance to develop possible business models together with United Way. Best of all, the finalist startups will also be able to enjoy this benefit and advice.
